CHN Managed Care Organization (MCO) is a physician-driven, medical management-focused, managed care organization committed to improving the delivery of care within its community. CHN MCO provides comprehensive contracting and medical management services on behalf of its member organizations.

The founding members of CHN established an entity that organizes hospitals and physicians into a vehicle capable of contracting with managed care payors and managing the care delivered under those contracts. CHN’s initial activities focused on educating its membership on the changing health care environment and responding to the pressures for collaboration among providers in managing the delivery of care.

Very early in the formation of the Cleveland Health Network, a strategic decision was made to ensure the managed care organization had the necessary infrastructure in place to develop autonomy and the expertise to provide for the highest quality care at cost-effective rates. CHN MCO made the commitment to develop the functions necessary to capture and generate both accurate and timely data necessary for effective medical/financial decision making. With this expertise and infrastructure, CHN MCO, with a comprehensive network of hospitals and physicians, is well-positioned as the pre-eminent network in the region, able to control its own destiny as the market and environment change.
